Add Another Failed Prescribed Antidepressant to the Stack

It seems that yet another antidepressant drug has failed the clinical trials, this time the drug is made by a huge German company, and is called Flibanserin. Funny how pharmaceutical companies only care about money and not if you are feeling better. Wouldn’t that be amazing if they had a way to cure your depression, anxiety, stress and insomnia? But they instead choose to make drugs that you must take every day and at a high cost to your pocketbook.

But where there is money to be made, rest assured these companies will.

Now this drug is being touted as a potential sexual enhancer for women.

In a November article that was published on Newsweek.com, the article cites,

“This potential blockbuster, developed by the German drug manufacturer Boehringer Ingelheim, is called flibanserin and it was almost a nonstarter when it was first tested as an antidepressant. Flibanserin didn’t lift mood, but researchers noticed that it had one intriguing quality: it appeared to heighten sexual interest in laboratory animals and humans.”

The drug has yet to pass FDA approval for anything; much less it’s new approach.

Here is some food for thought.
